Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Bitwill LLC (“Bitwill”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you visit bitwill.com (the “Site”). It covers the Site only. If you engage Bitwill for inheritance planning services, that engagement is governed by a separate written agreement and its own privacy terms.

The short version: this Site is informational. It has no user accounts, no payment forms, and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We collect the minimum needed to operate the Site and respond when you choose to contact us. We never ask for your private keys, wallet addresses, or details of your Bitcoin holdings through this Site, and we never want them.

Information you give us. If you email us at admin@bitwill.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. If you schedule a consultation through our booking provider (Cal.com), we receive the name, email address, appointment time, and any notes you enter into the booking form.

Information collected automatically. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand how the Site performs and which pages are read. These tools are cookieless: they record page views, the referring page, coarse location (country/region derived from IP address), and device characteristics (browser, operating system, screen category) using an anonymized identifier that is not linked to you as a person and cannot follow you across other websites. Our hosting provider (Vercel) also processes IP addresses transiently in server logs to deliver pages and defend against abuse.

What we do not collect. No account data (there are no accounts), no payment data (nothing is sold on the Site), no precise location, no biometric data, and no information about your Bitcoin holdings, wallets, or keys.

• To respond to your inquiries and correspondence.
• To schedule and prepare for consultations you request.
• To understand aggregate readership of the Site (which pages are visited, from which countries, on which device types) so we can improve content and performance.
• To secure the Site against abuse, bots, and attacks.
• To comply with legal obligations that apply to us.

We do not use Site data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not enrich it with data from brokers or other third-party sources.

Where data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply, we process personal information on three legal bases:

• Legitimate interests: operating, securing, and improving an informational website. This covers analytics and server logs.
• Steps taken at your request: handling consultation bookings and correspondence before any engagement is signed.
• Legal obligation: retaining or disclosing information where the law requires it.

We do not rely on consent for any processing on this Site, because we do not set optional cookies or send marketing communications.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we have not done so. We share information only with the service providers that operate the Site on our behalf:

• Vercel Inc. (United States): hosting, Web Analytics, and Speed Insights.
• Cal.com, Inc. (United States): consultation scheduling, under its own privacy policy, when you choose to book a call.
• Our business email service: receiving and holding mail sent to admin@bitwill.com while we handle it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, and in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

Our service providers process data in the United States and may process it in other countries where they operate. Where a transfer involves personal information protected by European or UK law, it is covered by recognized safeguards, chiefly the Standard Contractual Clauses included in the data processing agreements of Vercel and Cal.com. By contacting us or booking a consultation, you understand that your information may be processed outside your country of residence.

• Correspondence and booking records: used to handle your matter, then deleted. We do not store them beyond that unless a law requires us to keep them.
• Analytics data: held by Vercel in aggregated, anonymized form per its retention schedule; it is not personally identifiable to us.
• Server logs: retained transiently by our hosting provider for security and operations.

Depending on where you live, you have rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). These include the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, to correct it, to delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Where processing rests on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We honor these requests regardless of jurisdiction where we reasonably can.

To exercise any right, email admin@bitwill.com from the address your request concerns. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity, and we respond within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.

The Site sets no advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights operate without cookies, using anonymized identifiers that reset and cannot build a profile of you. Because of this, the Site does not show a cookie consent banner. If our practices ever change, this policy and the Site will be updated first.

All Site traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). We collect little by design. The strongest protection for data is not holding it. Access to correspondence and booking information is limited to the people who need it to respond to you. No website can guarantee absolute security, but our minimal-collection approach limits what could ever be exposed.

The Site is directed at adults and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Site links to third-party services, including Cal.com booking pages. Once you leave bitwill.com, the destination’s own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the practices of external sites.

When we change this policy, we will update the “Updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will post a prominent notice on the Site for at least 30 days. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
